Psalm 119:141 I am small and despised: yet do not I forget ...

I am small and despised: yet do I not forget Jesus. I can relate to David in today’s verse. When my husband and I go camping, I sit and look out at the night skies and I’m overwhelmed at all the stars! The stars cannot be numbered!! I feel so small when I place myself in the middle of it all!

David was hated for his love for God’s Law. He felt “little” in the eyes of man but David knew that he was precious in the God’s eyes. God considered His followers in the Old Testament as friends (see 2 Chr. 20:7 and James 2:23). As born-again Christians, we are not only precious in God’s eyes as well, but we are also considered His friend (see John 15:14).

If you’re feeling small and insignificant, Christian, here are a few verses that will show you that you matter to the Lord our God. Just as you are important to your earthly, so much more are you important to God. He created you in His image and knows you inside out.

Zep 3:17  The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

Jer 1:5  Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

Isa 41:10  Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Psa 147:11  The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

Isa 49:15-16  Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.  (16)  Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

Each of us has been created for a purpose and that is to love the Lord and obey Him. Those in the Old Testament had to follow the Law. When they sinned, they had to take an offering to the High Priest in order for that offering’s blood to cover their sin.

Ecc 12:13  Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

However, to the born-again Christian, our sin is totally forgiven. They are not just covered until the day of redemption, my friend. Once you are saved, your sins have been totally forgiven and are no longer remembered! Praise the Lord!

Psa 103:12  As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Mic 7:19  He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

John 1:9 – If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Isaiah 43:25 – I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

Heb 8:12  For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
