Psalm 119:123 – Pull Up A Chair
Bible Verse of the Day - Daily Scripture, Daily Devotions

Mine eyes fail for thy salvation, and for Jesus! Spring is in the air, friend! I’m so excited to see the buds on the trees and little crocus leaves coming out of the ground!! A brand new day in a brand new season! It’s as though we are experiencing a new beginning when Spring arrives, isn’t it?

I don’t know who said this, but It is said that “the eyes are the window to the soul.” However, the Scriptures have a lot to day about the eyes:

Psa 146:8  The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous:

Psa 19:8  The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

Every human being is given an opportunity to be saved. Our eyes and heart search for answers but we are deceived and led down numerous paths in order to find the truth. Jesus Christ is the center of salvation! He alone opens the eyes of those who are seeking for salvation! There is no other way to get to heaven. You can be as religious as you can be, just as the Pharisees, but that won’t get you into heaven, reader. The bible says there is only one way.

Joh 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Joh 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The Pharisees didn’t believe that Jesus was their Messiah. They still don’t today! The Jews are still waiting for their Messiah. Jesus Christ is the Messiah for all races and religions. There is no one that will be exempt!

Php 2:9-11  Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:  (10)  That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;  (11)  And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Amen and amen! There will come a reckoning one day, dear reader! Whether it be now when you are yet living or when you have died. You can know if your name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life right now! You don’t have to hope that it is. Salvation is not “hope so”! One can know now! The phrase “book of life” is recorded once in the Epistles and seven times in the Book of Revelation alone! Seven is God’s number for perfection and perfect salvation is given to us by Jesus Christ! A total of eight verses speak of the book of life. Eight is the number for new beginnings.

Php 4:3  And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.
Rev 3:5  He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
Rev 13:8  And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Rev 17:8  The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
Rev 20:12  And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Rev 20:15  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Rev 21:27  And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
Rev 22:19  And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Is your name written in the book of life? Once you are born again, your name is written in that book! You don’t have to wait until you are dead. At salvation, you actually start your walk through eternity, making your way from your earthly home to your heavenly home! Notice in Php 4:3, Clement and Paul’s fellowlabourers’ names were already written in the book of life. Praise God! We can know now!

When one is born again, that is the start of a new beginning in a person’s life! Once we are born again, we have a new life that has been given to us by Christ! His death, burial and resurrection covered it all! He provided salvation so we could live a new life in Him!

Rom 6:4  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Friend, if you do not have assurance of your salvation, get the assurance! If you depend on your church or good works to get you to heaven, stop! There is nothing, I repeat nothing, that you can do yourself that will let you into heaven!

Eph 2:8-9  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  (9)  Not of works, lest any man should boast.

If you could get into heaven by your good works or following the laws and rules of your church, it would not be a gift given to you by God. You would be able to pat yourself on the back and say (much like the Pharisees) “look what I’ve done”! Our good deeds and obedience to our church is considered filthy in the eyes of a righteous and holy God!

Isa 64:6  But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

So why would you think that obedience to a religion would get you into heaven? Everything we do to achieve salvation on our own and by our own works, is filthy rags in the eyes of God. That is why salvation is a gift from God! He knew we could not possibly get to heaven by our own “good” works. We needed a perfect substitution, which is Christ the Lamb of God!

Easter is around the corner and it’s a good time to meditate on why Christ had to come to earth to suffer a cruel death to pay our penalty for sins! Won’t you please reach out to me if you are searching? Let me shar with you the good news of salvation through Christ! It’s easy and God made it simple so even a child can understand. \o/ Praise the Lord from whom all blessings flow!
