My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, … Hosea 4:6 (KJV)

There’s no lack of knowledge in today’s world, that’s for sure! Like Babel (in Genesis 11:4), the people wanted to make a name for themselves. But this is not the knowledge that Hosea speaks of in Hosea 4:6. These people have a lack of knowledge. God tells Hosea that because His people have rejected the knowledge of His word, He will reject them. It is God’s word that brings salvation! The only way to be rejected of God is to reject Him – to reject His salvation. Sadly, man has grown so ‘full of knowledge’ that logically he finds no need for God. Man’s logic is all that is needed for them and the things of God are considered weak! There is no weakness in the Scriptures!

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Heb 4:12 (KJV)

God’s word is judgmental, strong and righteous. The Holy Spirit knows our every thought – every intention that the heart could possibly conceive. There is nothing hid from God and His word is certain to draw the secret thoughts of every man into the open. (Matthew 10:26) It is His word that reveals all truth. It is the Scriptures that convict and set us apart, sanctifying us and molding us into the likeness of the Lord, Jesus Christ. Hebrews 4:12 is not a “feel good” verse. Division, cutting, and molding is the topic.

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. John 17:17 (KJV)

To the Christian, it brings encouragement that through God’s word, we are being taught and trained to be holy as He is holy (1 Peter 1:16). To the religious and unsaved, it brings judgment.

And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Tim 3:15-16 (KJV)

Do not be deceived by your religious leaders, friend! It is God’s word that lives forever and is the source of our salvation. Religion is corruptible but God’s word is not.

23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. 24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: 25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. 1 Peter 1:23-25 (KJV)

It is a sad day when man rejects the Bible and puts traditions and the ‘church fathers’ ahead of God’s word! It is this same word that will judge each one of us. Were we born again from it? If yes, spiritual growth lies within its pages. If one is not born again from it, then one will be judged according to all that is contained within. The same Bible that mankind has rejected (knowledge) will be exactly what is used to judge them!

He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. John 12:48 (KJV)

He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. John 12:48 (KJV)

What does one do when the Scriptures say something different than what we have been taught? We have been taught all our lives that our church fathers and church traditions are as inspired as God’s words so we must obey what the church says in order to be “saved.”

The Bible, however, says differently. Jesus’ own words in John 12:48 say that God’s word, the Scriptures, will be what shall judge us in the last day. Jesus’ words, recorded in the Bible, will be what is used. Just as the laws of the land judge a criminal, so will the Scriptures judge each one of us.

So put aside religious affiliation for just a moment and read what God says in His word about this topic. We all know that God is not capable of lying, but man is.

God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged. Romans 3:4 (KJV)

Since God is incapable of lying, it stands to reason that His word contains the truth. We are to obey His word – above any words of man.

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. Acts 5:29 (KJV)

If man says, “I have found ancient documentation which says we must follow church traditions” but yet church tradition contradicts God’s word. How is a person suppose to handle this? Will church tradition and church fathers be the ones to judge us come Judgment Day? John 14:28 says that we are going to be judged by God’s word, not man’s words or traditions. Therefore, if tradition contradicts Scripture, it stands to reason we would obey the truth found in Scripture.

O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? Gal 3:1 (KJV)

Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? Gal 5:7 (KJV)

Paul had the same problem with the Galatians. Those wishing to follow traditions were leading others astray. Paul exhorted them to get back on track and obey the truth of God’s word! It’s important, friend! It will make all the difference in whether you heed what you have been taught all your life or heed God’s word. How important is God’s word?

I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. Psalms 138:2 (KJV)

God magnifies His word above His own name! How important is that??? Is it any wonder God’s word is attacked today? It is the word of God that cleanses us – it leads us to salvation in Jesus Christ! (Psalm 119:9) The born-again Christian keeps himself clean by heeding God’s word! We set ourselves apart by heeding God’s word.

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. John 17:17-19 (KJV)

Is it any wonder that the devil would distract mankind with religion? It is not religion that saves. It is Jesus Christ (John 14:6) that saves – it is His word that we must obey – it is according to His word that we will be judged. Wouldn’t you rather obey God rather than man so that you are certain rather than obey traditional religion and not know for certain? (1 John 5:13)

~Revelation 2:18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;

God sees all, whether we want to believe that or admit to it does not matter in the least. At one time, the world believed that the earth was flat but that did not make it so. God’s word stated otherwise yet people were still foolish. (Isaiah 40:22) People will believe what they want to believe, despite the facts – despite what the word of God says. Why? Because the heart of man is sinful. (Jeremiah 17:9)

But no one is wiser than God. He knows our thoughts – He knows our heart. He knows the deepest, darkest secrets of our hearts and we cannot fool Him. Yet people are foolish and think that He doesn’t see or that God doesn’t care. How very sad this is! God sees the heart – we cannot fool Him. He knows our intentions and motives even if we don’t speak them aloud to someone else! (Jeremiah 17:10) And because of this, man will receive his dues. Nothing is hid from God – whether mankind wants to admit that or not. All our sins, outwardly evident or those done in secret, are known to Him and He will bring those into the open on Judgment Day. (Psalm 90:8)

What hope is there? Is there hope? Yes! Praise the Lord for Christ’s death on the cross! He sacrificed Himself because He knew that man was weak and powerless over sin. He knew we were but dust. (Psalm 103:14) But now that we know of His sacrificial death, we are without excuse. We have the wonderful opportunity to accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to receive eternal life. If one rejects His salvation, He will face the judgment of the Lord, Jesus. (Isaiah 42:3) When one take the time to read God’s word, they discover that it has all the information they need to know about the upcoming judgment for the unbelieving soul. God did not leave us clueless. Our own ignorance is just that … our own ignorance. (Romans 10:3)

To the one who has accepted His sacrifice and is born again with newness of life (II Corinthians 5:17), there is a cost. It’s not just a mere blab it and grab it and bam you’re saved! Along with salvation, along with that change in our lives, comes a commitment to live godly and separated from what we use to be! (II Timothy 2:19) The Lord is now our Shepherd and we are to follow after Him as sheep follow their shepherd. We know His voice and He speaks to us through His precious Holy Spirit and His word! (John 10:14, John 10:27) Nothing can separate us from our Shepherd – no one can separate us from His love! (John 10:28) But when we sin, we have an Advocate with the Father. (1 John 2:1) Praise God that Christ stands before His Father on our behalf and pleads our cause. We are going to sin, but we must keep our lists short and confessed (1 John 1:8-10).

Live like you are a born-again child of God, Christian. With all the false prophets out there today who are preaching easy believism, the world has had its fill with the so-called ‘Christian.’ Many pastors today don’t deserve a following – they lead many astray. Research what is preached to you – don’t be led astray. We are in the end times and there are many shepherds who are wolves in sheep’s clothing!

~Isaiah 56:10-12 His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. 11 Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter. 12 Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant.

Live what you read – live what you believe, Christian! Be Christ like! Be that light – that beacon – that shows others there is something different about your Christianity!

Psalm 49

To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah.
1 Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world: 2 Both low and high, rich and poor, together. 3 My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding. 4 I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp. 5 Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about? 6 They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; 7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: 8 (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:) 9 That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption. 10 For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others. 11 Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names. 12 Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish. 13 This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah. 14 Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling. 15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah. 16 Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased; 17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him. 18 Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself. 19 He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light. 20 Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.

How many times I have watched the “world” sin and actually prosper and yet believers are suffering – some for the cause of Christ. The headlines in Christian news report believers being killed in Pakistan and persecuted all over the world. Yet unbelievers prosper and seem unaffected by their sin!

This is a discouraging thought for me and I try “not to go there” in my head because I get discouraged. My current unemployment situation is one of those areas that bewilders me when unbelievers are getting the jobs for which I have applied. I know that God has a plan and that He loves me – of this I have no doubt. But these thoughts still pop up in my head and I am bewildered.

Verse 17 reminds that no one can take anything with him when he leaves this earth. However, I can take my salvation and stand face-to-face with my Saviour knowing that I will be spending eternity with Him. Whatever trials I have gone through, they will be worth it all when I meet my Maker. The unbeliever does not have this advantage. His blessings were here on earth but eternal punishment in Hell awaits him for eternity. My hardships were here on earth but blessings in Heaven await me for all eternity!

The next time I think of life not being fair, I must remind myself to come to today’s text and encourage my spirit in the Lord. Judgment will be meted out, whether here on earth or when we step into eternity!

~Exodus 20:1-6 And God spake all these words, saying, I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

I came across this quote by J.C. Ryle in his sermon Fire, Fire! and was totally amazed as to how it fit into today’s “church”! Take a moment and read his words and meditate on them.

Beware of manufacturing a god of your own: a god who is all mercy but not just, a god who is all love but not holy, a god who has a heaven for everybody but a hell for none, a god who can allow good and bad to be side by side in time, but will make no distinction between good and broad in eternity. Such a god is an idol of your own, as truly an idol as any snake or crocodile in an Egyptian temple. The hands of your own fancy and sentimentality have made him. He is not the God of the Bible, and beside the God of the Bible, there is no God at all.

Beware of making selections from your Bible to suit your taste. Dare not to say, ‘I believe this verse, for I like it. I refuse that, for I cannot reconcile it with my views’. Nay! But O man, who art thou that repliest against God? By what right do you talk in this way? Surely it were better to say over EVERY chapter in the word, “Speak Lord, for thy servant heareth”. Ah! If men would do this, they would never deny the unquenchable fire.

-J.C. Ryle {from ‘Fire, Fire!’}

Today’s Laodicean church is everything described in Mr. Ryle’s excerpt! Today’s manufactured god is all merciful, all love, only provides Heaven, and does not require eternal judgment for sin. This god has been designed by men whose hearts have strayed from God’s Holy Word and they have designed their god around their own religion. Paul warned us about these latter days.

~2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

The truth of the matter is that when we stray from God’s Word, we begin to seek those who are in agreement with us. We find a church that preaches what we want to hear. We hang around people who do not challenge us to dig deeper into the Word to be convicted by its power. The God of the Bible is a merciful God because He gave His Son to take our punishment. However, John 3:16 also says that the soul who does not accept Christ will perish. This same merciful God also passes judgment. You cannot have one without the other. This same loving God is all love but is also Holy. His righteousness cannot allow sin into Heaven. As Christ hung on the cross dying, the Father had to turn (Matt. 27:46) His back on His own Son because of His Holiness. This same God resides in Heaven where sin is not allowed. He, therefore, had to create a place to hold the devil, his angels and those who would not accept His Son (Matt. 25:41). And lastly, because of man’s fall in the Garden of Eden, we are all born with a sin nature. It is this sin nature that allows the bad to reside with any good that comes into our lives. The path to Heaven is narrow and there are few that want to walk it (Matt. 7:13-14). However, the road to destruction and Hell is broad and it is a much easier road to follow.

Mr. Ryle said it right, “But O man, who art thou that repliest against God? By what right do you talk in this way?” Man will be judged on what he has done with God’s Word. We of all generations are blessed. Many of us have at least one King James Bible on our shelves. It is available for free on-line along with countless wonderful Bible software programs to help one study.

Today’s church may be the lukewarm church but it will be held accountable for having the living Word of God freely at its fingertips but yet neglecting to open its pages and freely drink! What god have you made for yourself? Be careful what doctrine you hold dear to your heart, Christian.

~2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

Be sure that your God is the God of the Bible!

~Mathew 23:23 Woe unto you, … hypocrites! for ye pay tithe …, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

My life growing up was spent attending church and following my parents’ example. I followed their religion because it was the thing to do. I didn’t question it – I just did it. It was no different in Christ’s day. The Jewish religion had the same type of followers as I claimed to be.

My outer shell (my flesh and bones) had the appearance of being a religious person. But once I got around my friends or by myself, my true sinful nature came out. I think we can all say that this is true at some point in our lives. The Jewish law was a schoolmaster and, as Christ points out in today’s verse, involved judgment, mercy and faith. The New Testament covenant that Christ brought is the same: judgment, mercy and faith.

~John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

~John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

~Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

I was a hypocrite. I lived one kind of life at church – pious, self righteous, and lost as lost could be. Outside of church, I did what came naturally and that was to sin! My nature had not changed!

However, thirty years ago today, I was presented the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a way that I had never heard before. It did not involve anything that I could do to earn my salvation. But it did involve acknowledging that only Christ could provide that salvation because He is the One who died on the cross, paid the price for my sins, and opened the door for me to be born again! Thank You, Lord!

~John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

~Numbers 32:23 But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.

Sin brings pleasure. If it didn’t, we wouldn’t be so quick to fall into its trap. In fact, the deeper we fall into sin’s trap, the less conviction we have. We stop listening to the Holy Spirit as He tries to guide us. It even gets to a point where we laugh at sin and make fun of it. It no longer singes our hearts but stirs up the desire to sin even more.

~Proverbs 14:9  Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.

With that moment’s pleasure comes assurance of judgment from a Righteous and Holy God!

~Galatians 6:7  Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Are you struggling with God’s punishments today? The child who is spanked by God is a child who is loved. I cherish these verses in Scriptures because the Lord shows me that He loves me:

~Hebrews 12:6-10 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

Yes we are under His Grace but that does not give us a license to sin and get away with it. Do you allow your children to get away with disobeying you? Of course not! Neither does the Perfect Parent, our Heavenly Father. We are His children – we deserve His punishment when we disobey. It does not remove us from His family – it does not take away our position as His child. Just as our child is not less our child when we discipline him, neither are we less a child of God when we sin. This is the difference between religion and true Christianity. Religion adds to salvation and, therefore, removes grace from God’s gift. True Christianity reveals God’s grace and shows true change from the heart. The true child of God will be a work in action – moving forward and growing like a plant. If the child is not growing and changing, something is wrong. Question yourself – seek answers in God’s Word!

~Psalm 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

I truly believe it is too late for our country to turn back to its Christian roots.  Just reading through history, I find how much we as a nation has strayed. I believe we are undergoing the beginning of judgment and there’s a lot more to come which will be much worse.

~2 Timothy 4:3-4  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Our grandparents would have recognized the lies being told them by politicians of their day and would have voted them out of office.  Today’s American is asleep at the wheel.  We have allowed those in office to steal our rights and they have voted on bills that their constituents did not want.

Our people need a good shaking to awaken them out of their sleep!

(Joh 12:48 ) He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. I love this photograph. As I look at it, it reminds me that God’s Word is sure and firm, like the mountains. The trees may be hidden on the mountain by the fog, but they are still there nonetheless. God’s Word is the same. Jesus spoke in parables because He knew that intellectual Pharisees, Sadducee’s and Scribes would not be able to understand what He was saying. (1 Cor 2:14) But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

The Apostle Paul also wrote that they shared the hidden wisdom of God in a mystery which was ordained by God before the world! (1 Cor 2:6) Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: (1 Cor 2:7) But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: The born-again believer has access to God’s Word (our daily manna) and can understand things that are hidden to the unbeliever. (Rev 2:17) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it. I can remember reading the Bible prior to salvation and I was bored to tears! The reading was dry as dust and I did not walk away with anything. However, after my salvation, God’s Holy Spirit opened my eyes and I was able to understand what I was reading.

Is it any wonder that the Word is corrupted so much by the world? They simply cannot understand it because they do not possess the Holy Spirit of God, who wrote it! God will judge them according to His Word despite their misinterpretations – despite the fact that they have changed the Word of God – despite the fact that they have taken words out or added words – all because they were duped into believing that God’s Word could not be preserved and, therefore, man’s interpretation of “what is left of the Word” is sufficient! (Joh 12:48 ) He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. (emphasis mine) You cannot get around this verse, my friend! You will not be able to tell God that you did not know about this verse because you have just read it!

It is quite clear. God will judge us by His Word– the Holy Bible. He will not judge us by the laws and teachings of the catholic church, Joseph Smith or the Qur’an. They do not possess the true Word of God. Again, Rev. 2:17 states that God will give us to eat of the hidden manna! Can it be any clearer? His Word is hidden to those who do not believe. It is a mystery to them but to us, it is hidden manna that has been given to us by God Himself! He gives us the interpretation through His Holy Spirit!

God’s Word revolves around Him – His righteousness – His provision for salvation through Jesus Christ. It is not by our own righteousness that we can be saved. (Isa 64:6) But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. Therefore, we must come to God through Jesus Christ and His righteousness alone. (Rom 10:3) For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. (emphasis mine) Oh my friend, do you see it? God says that because you are ignorant of God’s own righteousness, you are try to establish your own righteousness through keeping certain laws or teachings of your church. There is nothing you can do on your own that will gain you one smidgen of righteousness. Nothing!

It is only by being born-again that we can take on the righteousness of Jesus Christ. (2 Cor 5:21) For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (emphasis mine) It’s Christ’s righteousness that we need to gain entry into Heaven – not the catholic church or Allah! The Word is pure and tried and we can depend on it to guide us to that very righteousness. (Psa 12:6) The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. (Psa 12:7) Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. (emphasis mine) Because God’s Word is pure and He says it is preserved forever, we can be assured that we will be judged according to His Word.

God is the One who will judge us according to John 12:48. Our Judge has provided a way for us to have our sins forgiven through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. It is God who forgives us because it is His to forgive through the sacrifice of His Son. (Rom 8:1) There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. We no longer are condemned if we accept Christ as our one and only Saviour. We are no longer going to be judged because Christ’s blood now covers us.

The unbeliever will be judged because he thought that salvation was through his church and not through Jesus Christ alone. Paul was very clear when he wrote about “working our way to heaven” in the following verses: (Rom 4:2-5) For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. (2) For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. (3) Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. (4) But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. (5)So if you believe that keeping the sacraments, saying the rosary, praying countless prayers, doing penance, attending church daily, etc. will count as righteousness to you, you are sadly mistaken. Your works is the reward of debt. However, the one who realizes that the work of salvation is only through the work of Christ’s shed blood on the cross receives the grace of God and it is counted to him as righteousness – Christ’s righteousness.

My friend, upon your death, you will stand before the Judge and He will judge you according to His Word. John 12:48 states it – so what will you do with this? You now have read it – you now have heard. You can’t say that no one told you because I just told you so. Someone once said that to me and those words led me to the Cross of Calvary and I accepted Christ as my Saviour and the only way to Heaven. You will be held accountable. Mary will not be able to help you on the day of judgment. She will not go to the Father because she has some special power with Him. That is not taught in the Word but is found in the teachings of a church that is leading its people to hell. Joseph Smith will not be able to help you. Nor will Allah will not be able to help you. All these cults lead to destruction – they lead to hell because they do not adhere to the Word of God. You will be judged according to God’s Word. How will you measure up? You won’t be able to – not unless you have accepted Christ as Saviour. He is the only way. (Joh 14:6) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

I am saddened by the testimony left behind by the so-called “christian” today. My heart just aches that the cause of Christ has been so diluted by people who claim they are Christians yet live their lives as if there is no power behind Christ. No wonder the lost call Christians hypocrites. I would rather that those who professed but did not change would be quiet and never say they are Christian. I would rather they let those who really did become born again show the world the difference that Christ makes.

Have you been truly born again? If so, the Bible says your life will be changed. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Cor 5:17) The Greek word “are” implies a continuation – an on-going process. Therefore old things are continuing to pass away and all things are becoming new. Your old sinful nature is continuing to pass away and your new righteous nature is continuing to become new! You are sinning less and the things which are pleasing to God are becoming more prevalent in your life. Your desires in life lead toward God rather than away from God. Is this what has happened in your life?

So, are you a new creature? Does it bother you when you sin? Does the Holy Spirit of God “eat your lunch” when you sit and watch a movie that curses His name? Are you disturbed when those around you tell dirty jokes and you say nothing? My friend, if you are truly born again, the Holy Spirit of God will stir your spirit. 2 Cor. 5:17 says you are a new creature and old things are passing away and all things in your life are becoming new. If you are suppose to be “becoming new,” then why are you not changing?

I am so sick and tired of being compared to the person who says he is a “christian” yet is not any different than those who are not. At least the unsaved don’t boast about being born again. They don’t live a life of hypocrisy. But the one who says they got saved and have not changed nor have the desire to change, simply drag the name of Christ through the mud and the unsaved world looks at all of us as being part of the same group and they laugh at us – they consider all of us hypocrites. Sadly, many of those sitting in our very own churches are hypocrites. Just check out how many return for evening services and mid-week services.

The homosexuals hate us because of these hypocrites. The abortionists hate us because of these hypocrites. They claim that “christians” hate them and perform hate crimes toward them. The true born-again Christian loves the homosexual – the true born-again Christian loves the abortionist. The truth is that we hate the sin but we love the person. The homosexual or the abortionist cannot say this – that would mean that they hate the Christian but love the person. The homosexual and the abortionist hate the true Christian because we expose their sin – not in word but with our very lives. The true born-again Christian loves the sinner and desires that all come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. (2 Cor 4:6)

My friend, the Word of God is plain and simple. I have had a homosexual say that the New Testament does not deny homosexuality – I have read accounts of abortionists saying that all are equal in God’s eyes and that the woman has the choice over her body and He would not want her to suffer. The Bible says:

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: (Rom 1:26) It is God’s design that women bear children – that is the natural use of the woman’s body. But the women of today are selfish – it’s all about me and what is convenient for me! The baby has become a convenience. It is also natural for a woman to be married to a man. But again, in these times of corrupt hearts, women have discarded the use of a man in their lives. So why do they strive to act as men, then? It makes no sense at all. Their sinful hearts will cause them to believe the lie that they were born this way. It is easier to believe a lie than to seek truth – especially God’s Truth. I once spoke to a homosexual woman about the Lord. She said she had to clean up her life before she could get saved. She knew deep down that her homosexuality was a sin – she was under conviction. But she did not wait to try to get out of the sin prior to salvation. She feared God more than she feared the harsh words from her friends. She was gloriously saved and immediately repented of her sinful lifestyle. Today, she is married and has four children!

And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. (Rom 1:27) How can you homosexual men say that the New Testament does not state how sinful your life is? Here it is in plain black and white from the Scriptures. You are without excuse. Continue in this sin and you will receive payment for your error – whether it be in your body through AIDS (or whatever sickness) or for all eternity if you do not repent.

Are you any different than the straight person or the one who has never had an abortion? No, not at all. We are all sinners and are all without sin. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (Rom 3:23) We are all guilty. The liar deserves hell just as much as the homosexual or the abortionist. For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. (Jam 2:10)

Whether you want to admit it or not, we all live by a law of some kind. Whether we live in Germany, the United States or Canada (or wherever), we live by a civil law that keeps law and order in our country. Without this law of the land, chaos would ensue. It is the same for the spiritual law. Without spiritual laws guiding us, we would be neck deep in judgment. God has provided us with the spiritual laws of the Bible. These laws guide us and are the very foundation of civilization today. And we are neck deep in judgment because none of us can keep the whole law (as it is written in James 2:10, above). Anywhere you go in the civilized world, one knows that it is against the law not to kill – not to steal – not to lie. Where did the civilized world get this law? Any intelligent human being would want to know where this law began. Any intelligent human being would realize that the same one who placed this law in our hearts will require judgment some day.

My friend, I challenge you only to search your heart. The Bible says that God will judge you for what you know in your heart to be true. You cannot deny that you know better because the Bible says that you know better because it has been imprinted upon your heart by God.

Romans 1:18-21 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; (18 ) Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. (19) For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: (20) Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. (21)

Do not be the one whose foolish heart will be darkened. Confess your sin, repent and be saved. Jesus said, I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. (
Luk 13:3)
Therefore, Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (Joh 3:3) The true-born again Christian will be truly sorry for his sin; he will repent and strive not to continue in his sin. That is the difference between the “so-called” christian and the true born-again Christian.

I felt led to write this today and I pray that the Lord uses it to draw someone to Him today. To God be the glory, great things He hath done!

Please write me if this has blessed you!
