My heart’s condition directly reflects the amount of time I put into reading my Bible and applying it to my life through the Holy Spirit’s convictions. Achieving a sound heart takes a journey through the Scriptures. Many read their Bibles but do not apply its teachings. It’s like taking a shower without soap. You get wet but not totally clean. 🙂
Heeding the prodding of the Holy Spirit as He teaches us adds to our “wisdom bank.”
We make deposits daily and when the time comes and we are in need, the wisdom is there. Gleaning from the word of God makes us well advised according to:
Proverbs 13:10 Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised [is] wisdom.
It’s comforting to know that whatever path we take, God’s word has something that will guide us along the way.
God’s holy word is a treasure and we are on a treasure hunt, if you will.
As we search the Scriptures daily, as did the Bereans in Acts 17:11, we build a sound spiritual heart! We make deposits from the Scriptures into our spiritual bank and are able to withdraw wisdom when we need it 🙂 Our sound heart breathes life into our spiritual walk!
Proverbs 14:30 A sound heart [is] the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.
