Deal with thy servant according unto thy mercy, and teach me Jesus! It’s a beautiful Spring day and all of nature surrounding me is reflecting the newness that this season brings with it! As Christians we can see God in every aspect of our lives, amen? He is in the midst of all of His creation! If we have an open heart, we can be taught something by observing nature! Christ didn’t leave Christians empty-handed, my friend!
Christ left His Spirit to guide us, teach us and to glorify Him! The Holy Spirit’s job is not to bring glory to Himself, as some believe. The bible is quite clear on this. He is to bring glory to Jesus Christ, the Saviour of mankind!
Notice verse 14? It says that the Holy Spirit shall glorify Christ and then there’s a colon. That means the sentence is not complete. The verse continues to say that the Holy Spirit will receive what Jesus gives Him and the Holy Spirit will show it to us. It is the Holy Spirit who teaches us about Jesus, friend! Today’s verse really opens up when we look at it in this light, amen? Whatever we want to learn about Christ, the Holy Spirit will show us in the scriptures. What a blessing it is for Christians today in this world of uncertainty. We can turn to the bible and glean what the Holy Spirit is trying to teach us. As stated in John 14:26 above, the Holy Spirit is also known as the Comforter! Praise the Lord that Christ did not leave us without help!
Are you distressed this morning? Does the pandemic cause you to despair? Do you worry or stay up at night living in fear over the direction America is taking? Why not tap into the wonderful Comforter that Jesus left us? He is the One that can show you through the scriptures what will bring you peace! I absolutely love Psalm 121! Verse 2 says:
The bible uses the word LORD in capital letters to depict JEHOVAH, according to Noah Webster’s 1828 Dictionary. It lists the meaning of Jehovah as:
In scripture, the Supreme Being; Jehovah. When Lord, in the Old Testament, is prints in capitals, it is the translation of JEHOVAH, and so might, with more propriety, be rendered. The word is applied to Christ, Psa 110. Col 3. and to the Holy Spirit, 2 Th 3.
Take a moment and read the entire Psalm:
The LORD (Jehovah, the Supreme Being) is also the Holy Spirit who teaches us about Jesus Christ! The Three in One is diligently watching over His child. Notice that the Christian can rely on Christ’s work on the cross to preserve his soul and keep me forever more? The Supreme Being, Jehovah and the great Three in One, is there for you to lean on during these times in your life where you need help, comfort and direction.
The Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus Christ by teaching us all about Him. He draws unbelievers to Christ through the bible, preachers and with every Christian the unbeliever comes into contact. Let the Holy Spirit guide and direct you, Christian so you can lead others to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ! It is by God’s mercy that we can be saved, once for all!
Praise the Lord that we are kept by the power of God and that not of ourselves, amen?
