Psalm 119:46 KJV | Psalms, Bible quotes kjv, Prayer station

I will speak of Jesus before kings, and will not be ashamed. In Psalm 119:45, we saw that our liberty in Christ wiped away all bondage to sin. We are no longer slaves to it. In today’s verse, we see that this liberty should also come with boldness. Unfortunately, not everyone takes advantage of this liberty. Christians are timid today. They’re afraid to “offend” because there is a movement today which is trying to suppress our freedom of speech.

This movement has given believers an opportunity like we’ve never seen. Our country has never suffered the level of persecution of Christians during Nero’s reign in 64 AD. But we are heading down that path, unfortunately. Pastor John Koletas would not give up the preaching the gospel just to placate those in disagreement with him. An event unfolded on July 20, 2020, that should wake up believers across our great nation. Take a moment to read this article. BLM Attacks Grace Baptist Church Goers

Our liberty cannot allow for silence. We cannot be quiet when our faith is being attacked. The early church suffered much persecution for their boldness. We have had a blessed opportunity to grow up and live in a country where freedom of speech is part of our constitution. However, when this freedom is being attacked, how many Christians will stand and speak up? Telling others about Jesus Christ’s saving power is not as simple as it used to be. Persecution is coming, my friend. Will you be able to speak boldly for Christ? It’s time we arm ourselves with the whole armor of God and prepare ourselves to be tested. We have never known the testing of our faith in this Country. However, it won’t be long before we are. Therefore, prepare yourself! Dig your noses into your Bibles and get ready!

Eph 6:10-20  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.  (11)  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  (12)  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.  (13)  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.  (14)  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;  (15)  And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;  (16)  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.  (17)  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:  (18)  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;  (19)  And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,  (20)  For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

And I will walk at liberty: for I seek Jesus! Praise the Lord \o/ There is no bondage where there is liberty, amen? If you were once a slave under the bondage of a master and are now set free, you now have liberty. Can we agree on that? Therefore, once you are born again, you no longer are under the bondage of sin. You have liberty in Christ. You are set free from sins grips. That means that you now can say no to sin. Before salvation, you were a slave to sin. After salvation, you are set free from its grips on your life.

Gal 5:1  Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage

Jas 1:25  But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Here you see two beautiful verses that tell us that Christ has given us that liberty. You can wake up each morning feeling free from sin’s stronghold on your life. You no longer need to follow a certain religion’s laws in order to “stay” right with God. The Jews attempted this but if we have learned anything in the Book of Galatians, it’s that going back is becoming entangled in that yoke of bondage. I once knew a lady who later started doing the works of the Jewish religion. She became so entangled that she no longer saw the beautiful freedom that Jesus provided through His work on the cross. He nailed all those laws and traditions to that cross and He fulfilled every jot and tittle from the Scriptures spoke.

Any religion that says you must be born again plus anything else is going against the Scriptures. Be very careful who and what you study. Study the word of God … let the Holy Spirit reveal the truth through the Scriptures. You, too, can walk in liberty if you seek Jesus in everything you do and say!

Psalm 119:44 So shall I keep thy law continually for ever and ever ...

So shall I keep Jesus continually for ever and ever! Can anything go wrong if you keep Jesus continually in your day? I don’t think so. Jesus is the fulfillment of the law. Every jot and tittle of the law was nailed to the cross and fulfilled in Jesus’ resurrection. Mat 5:18  For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Things that come up in the course of the day that will cause a person to stress. But keeping Jesus continually before us will decide how we handle that stress. Joh 14:27  Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

It begins in the morning when your eyes first open. What’s the first thing you think of? Before going on with your day, put Jesus first.Throw some water on your face and grab your favorite morning beverage. Now head to the place where you can get away from distractions. Read a few of Bible verses which will prepare your heart. My go to verses are those found in Psalm 121. That Psalm brings me comfort and help me to focus on the One that can solve all issues in my life. I’m now able to share with the Lord in prayer what is on my heart. I ask Him what His plans are for me for that day and I know that He will show me; whether it’s through His word or a person who I encounter in the course of my day. After prayer, it’s time to listen to the Lord through His word. 1 Co 2:16  For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. We have the mind of Christ so you know that the Holy Spirit will reveal His will to us.

I love nature’s sounds. I have a playlist that I love to listen to as I read my Bible. It’s a compilation of soft piano music with the sounds of the ocean, or birds, or a thunder storm. Then I open my Bible and read. It’s that simple. There is always something that the Lord uses to speak to my heart. When I start my morning prayer and devotions “in the flesh,” I get nothing. Remember: “Garbage in, garbage out.” The phrase refers to computers but aren’t our brains a computer? We need to fill that brain of ours with Jesus. Just as the Psalmist said in today’s verse, I will keep Jesus continually.

Placing Jesus on the throne of your heart will help you with decision making, how you do your job, how you care for your husband and children, how you give counsel to a friend in need, etc.

Now that you’re equipped for the day, go for it! Submit to His will for your life and do His work 🙂

Psalm 119:43 | Psalms, Psalm 119, Seek peace

And take not Jesus utterly out of my mouth; For I have hoped in Jesus! Psalm 118:24 This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Good morning! What a glorious day in the Lord it is indeed! The sunrise in Culpeper, Virginia was absolutely beautiful! It reminded me of the Lord’s faithfulness to me. As I looked around His beautiful creation, I sensed Him standing beside me and admiring His handiwork along with me. 🙂 Oh what a wonderful God He is!

Because of this precious touch from the hand of the Master, I stand ready to speak of Him and speak His truth. John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. God’s word will set us apart from the lost because we hold the truth! We read God’s truth every time our eyes set on the pages of our Bible.

It is this hope, forever being with the Lord Jesus, that should keep us telling others about Him. The more you read the word of God, the more you’ll remember and be able to share with others. It is the work of Christ and His righteousness that brings us hope! It was his death, burial and resurrection that give us hope. Praise the Lord that we did not have to accomplish that on our own. No one would ever get to Heaven! Amen?

Hope in Jesus and keep Him and His words ever on your tongue!

Psalms 119:42 by mvcquotes on DeviantArt

Good morning! I pray that you are as excited as I am about today and the opportunities that lie ahead! Today’s verse weighs heavily on my heart because we are in a day and age where right is called wrong and wrong is called right! Man’s heart is so confused and so misled by the god of this world. Let’s dig in the word and find Jesus in today’s verse.

So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me: for I trust in Jesus. We have all been at some point in our lives, after salvation, where we have had the skeptic make every effort to question our faith. Those who do not believe in faith do not have that peace which surpasses all understanding (Phil. 4:7). But as a believer, I recognize that Christ took my punishment on that cross. I could have been left to my own devices, living a life of “trying” to be good. But as a child of the King, I am able to choose, as Joshua stated in the Old Testament, Joshua 24:15a … choose you this day whom ye will serve;

Who do you serve? If you serve the Lord, you will have an answer for anyone who asks you about your faith. Even if you have never personally led someone to the Lord, you can still talk about what Jesus did for you, my friend. You can give your own testimony and share the joy and freedom that came with your salvation. If you don’t remember the Bible verse’s address and the exact wording, share what you do remember. Tell the person that you’ll get back to him with the exact reference and wording. Don’t let the devil get you caught up in the jots and tittles. Trust in the Holy Spirit’s ability to bring back to memory what He needs to you to speak!

The days have indeed grown more evil and hearts are even harder than when I was first born again in 1980. 2 Tim. 4:1-5 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.  5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. We are in those days when people have voted into pastoral office, preachers who preach what the people want to hear and not what they need to hear.

Because of this, we seem to be required to have even more fervency in sharing Jesus Christ with a lost and dying world! Lead them to Christ and trust the Holy Spirit to do His work. Trust in the Lord Jesus to accomplish what needs to be done in your heart as well as the hearts of others. I may not understand why He has led me into a certain situation, but you can be sure it is because He wants God to have all the glory, not me! That is why I continue with this blog. If only a few sets of eyes read its contents, I pray that the Holy Spirit will work in that heart!

Let thy mercies come also unto me, O LORD, even thy salvation, according to Jesus. What a beautiful verse to start off my day! It is by God’s mercy that we are not consumed according to:

Lam 3:22  It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. Lam 3:23  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

God’s faithfulness to us is never ending and it is everlasting! He presents each and every soul that has ever lived an opportunity to have that mustard seed sized faith. That faith is enough for the Holy Spirit to work with and lead us to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour! Praise the Lord that God’s mercy, compassion and faithfulness fail not!

Yes, we can all sing “Great is thy faithfulness”! This has to be one of my favorite hymns!

Great is Thy faithfulness
O God my Father
There is no shadow of turning with Thee
Thou changest not
Thy compassions they fail not
As Thou hast been
Thou forever will be

Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see
And all I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness
Lord unto me

Pardon for sin
And a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer
And to guide
Strength for today
and bright hope for tomorrow
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside

Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see
And all I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness
Lord unto me

Psalm 119:40 KJV | Psalms, Psalms quotes, Bible scriptures

Behold, I have longed after Jesus: quicken me in thy righteousness! Have I? Have I longed after Jesus like David did? Have I desired His continuous influence over my spirit? At times there is a disconnect between what my spirit desires and what my flesh desires! So which one wins?

Sitting Bull was once attributed to this saying:

“Inside of me there are two dogs. One is mean and evil and the other is good and they fight each other all the time. When asked which one wins I answer, the one I feed the most.”

There is a lot of truth in this. If you feed your spirit with the word of God and prayer, you’ll be feeding the part of you that longs for Jesus, not the world!

In all seriousness, God’s word cleanses and is pure. No evil can come from reading your Bible and meditating on it… only good, if your heart is sincere in wanting to grow in the Lord.

Oh that we should desire Jesus with all our hearts in all that we say and do throughout the day. So often we are distracted with the cares of this world and the tasks at hand. We need to have that time alone where we desired to be quickened in the God’s righteousness!

Awaken my spirit and desire those things that will draw me close to You, Jesus! Let this be my daily prayer as soon as my feet hit the ground in the morning.

Psalm 119:39 (KJV) Turn away my reproach which I fear: for thy ...

Turn away my reproach which I fear, for Jesus is good. I believe that when we succumb to the devil’s temptations, we reap the repercussions of that sin. For example, indulging in drugs will result in an addiction that will be hard to break. But there is victory in Jesus. Drowning one’s self in the word of God will renew the fellowship between God and child.

Matthew Henry’s commentary on this verse summarizes it best:

When Satan has drawn a child of God into worldly compliances, he will reproach him with the falls into which he led him. Victory must come from the cross of Christ. When we enjoy the sweetness of God’s precepts, it will make us long for more acquaintance with them. And where God has wrought to will, he will work to do.

God’s judgments may not seem good or fair to you at the time but they are always good. His judgments are always for our benefit. Don’t think for a minute that your sin will be overlooked by God. Numbers 32:23 But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out. Being born-again, we have an Advocate: 1 Jn 2:1-6  My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:  (2)  And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.  (3)  And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.  (4)  He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.  (5)  But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.  (6)  He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

This is where “Christians” who continue in sin fail. They did not abide in Christ and are as the seed that fell upon the rock. But those Christians whose seed fell on good soil, we grow in the Lord and His love is perfected in our lives. So don’t be surprised when you are disciplined by the Lord when you succumb to the devil’s temptations. Seek forgiveness and ask the Lord to keep you from the hour of temptation so you are not so easily turned away. Each victory over sin brings a perfection of God’s love in us.

Daily Bible Verse - Psalm 119:38 | Psalm 119:38 Stablish thy… | Flickr

I love this verse! It pierces the heart if one meditates on it. The fear of God is such a beautiful thing … God does not want us to be afraid of Him but He wants us to reverence Him. How do we reverence? We reverence God by setting our lives apart from the world and obeying Him. Noah Webster’s 1828 Dictionary defines it as:

In good men, the fear of God is a holy awe or reverence of God and his laws, which springs from a just view and real love of the divine character, leading the subjects of it to hate and shun every thing that can offend such a holy being, and inclining them to aim at perfect obedience. This is filial fear

So how do we find Christ in today’s verse? Establish Jesus unto thy servant, who is devoted to thy fear. A person who has established his heart and has come to Christ’s salvation, is established in Him forever. There is nothing that can separate us from the love of God … nothing! However, are we devoted to God’s fear? Are we viewing Him with awe and reverence as well as to His word? Do we shun everything that can offend Him? I dare say this is the convicting part of this verse. If ever you need to do spiritual housecleaning, go to this verse and read what Noah Webster has to say about reverence! That will allow that spiritual gauge in your heart to confess and forsake, amen?

Good morning! I’m praying that you are being blessed by this devotional series!! 🙂 The Book of Psalms has millions of hidden nuggets within its verses… blessings that the Lord placed there for times like these! Our God is a merciful and righteous God, amen? He wants us to remain close to Him and choose not to sin. However, when we do fall, His mercy is endless and He is ready to dispense that mercy and bring us peace once again.

Finding Jesus in today’s verse was the gold mine I speak of. Turn away my eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in Jesus! John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Jesus is the only way to Heaven. It doesn’t matter what the world says, my friend. We have God’s words for mankind at our fingertips. No where in scripture does it say that there are other ways. Notice the latter part of John 14:6: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Jesus didn’t leave us to chance but gave us very specific directions.

Noah Webster’s 1828 Dictionary defines “quicken” as:

1. Primarily, to make alive; to vivify; to revive or resuscitate, as from death or an inanimate state. Romans 4:17.

Hence flocks and herds, and men and beasts and fowls, with breath are quicken’d and attract their souls.

2. To make alive in a spiritual sense; to communicate a principle of grace to.

You hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins. Ephesians 2:1.

3. To hasten; to accelerate; as, to quicken motion, speed or flight.

4. To sharpen; to give keener perception to; to stimulate; to incite; as, to quicken the appetite or taste; to quicken desires.

5. To revive; to cheer; to reinvigorate; to refresh by new supplies of comfort or grace. Psalms 119:25.

Jesus is the only Source of life and light! When we are born again and receive His Holy Spirit, we are made alive in Him. 1 Cor. 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. David so wanted to have God at the center of his life and on the throne of his heart. The evidence is found throughout Psalms.

Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity. Noah Webster defines vanity as:

1. Emptiness; want of substance to satisfy desire; uncertainty; inanity.

Vanity of vanities, said the preacher; all is vanity Ecclesiastes 1:2.

2. Fruitless desire or endeavor.

Vanity possesseth many who are desirous to know the certainty of things to come.

When our eyes are focused on the Lord and our whole person desires to do His will, we won’t “desire” the world’s offerings. The emptiness one feels can only be filled with Jesus! Amen?

Psalm 119:36 KJV | Christian bible quotes, Psalms, Kjv

Where is Jesus in this verse? Incline my heart unto Jesus, and not to covetousness. The Treasury of David has an interesting comment – I’ve added it below. David was the apple of God’s eye. One would think that he kept his heart focused on the Lord. But being human, I’m certain that he had tendencies to lean toward the opposite direction, as shown below.

The only way to cure a wrong leaning is to have the soul bent in the opposite direction. Holiness of heart is the cure for covetousness.

The only way to deal with sin is to be focused and centered on the Lord and His word. Jesus quoted scripture to Satan when He was tempted by him in the desert. Jesus was in human form and could have succumbed to sin after 40 days of no eating. When the body is in pain and weak, it is harder to ward off the devil. However, Jesus quoted His words from the Old Testament back at the devil. Is that what we do when we have fallen to temptation? Being tempted is not sin but giving into temptation is. The Lord promises to help us out of these situations.

James 1:14-15 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

It is not until the temptation has been “conceived” in our heart that it brings forth sin. Therefore, do not let yourself get to that point. We have a choice as born-again believers! We do not have to sin. We can stay focused on God’s word and quote it back to the devil when we are tempted. Be encouraged, Christian… it won’t be long now before Rapture occurs. Our troubles here on earth will be gone and we will be forever with the Lord for all eternity! Oh joy!

WHAT A DAY THAT WILL BE

There’s coming a day when no heartaches shall come
No more clouds in the sky
No more tears to dim the eye
All is peace forever more
On that happy golden shore
What a day, glorious day that will be

What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see
When I look upon His face the one who saved my by His grace
When He takes me by the hand and leads me to the promised land
What a day, glorious day that will be

There will be no sorrows there
And no more burdens to bear
No more sickness and, no more pain
No more parting over there
And forever I will be with the one who died for me
What a day, glorious day that will be

What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see
When I look upon His face the one who saved my by His grace
When He takes me by the hand and leads me to the promised land
What a day, glorious day that will be

What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see
When I look upon His face the one who saved my by His grace
When He takes me by the hand and leads me to the promised land
What a day, glorious day that will be

Psalm 119:35 Make me to go in the path of thy commandments, for ...

I am so thankful that I have had great Sunday School teachers in my lifetime! Some have challenged me to dig deeper and go further. This is one of those lessons that was taught to me in 1984. Finding Christ in each verse of Psalm 119 has been such a blessing, each time I read it!

Make me to go in the path of Jesus, for therein do I delight! Amen and amen!! When you go hiking, you take a path without knowing exactly what is around the bend. It is much that way with being a believer. We walk the righteous pathway but instead of be “anxious” for what lies ahead, we have a Shepherd who leads us and a Holy Spirit who reminds us of Bible verses that will help us along the way. There’s no need to be anxious. Phil. 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

When the riots began, I wasn’t afraid at first. It’s when they came to the City I work in that I became anxious. I allowed this to fester without turning to the Lord. My anxiousness then became fear.

My favorite verses that I turn to when I am afraid is: Psalm 121:1-2 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. But there are many more. My anxiousness and fear revealed to me that I was not going back to the Scriptures to heal my fearful heart! Once I did this, the fears subsided! Here are a few more that help:

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Ps. 34:4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

Deut. 31:6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he [it is] that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

These are just a few verses that remind us not to be afraid because we serve a risen Saviour and He will bring all of this to an end in the not too distant future. Rapture can happen at any moment, Christian. Don’t let it catch you unaware and afraid. Build your faith and build your Bible knowledge. Peace follows when we allow the Holy Spirit to encourage us in times such as these.

This reminded me of the beautiful hymn, In Times Like These. Read through these precious verses and be encouraged:

In times like these, we need a Savior
In times like these, we need an anchor
Be very sure, be very sure
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock

This Rock is Jesus, Yes, He’s the one
This Rock is Jesus, The only One
Be very sure, be very sure
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock

In times like these oh be not idle
In times like these we need the bible
Be very sure, be very sure
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock

That Rock is Jesus, Yes, He’s the one
That Rock is Jesus, The only One
Be very sure, oh you’ve gotta be sure
That your anchor holds, and it grips the Solid Rock
Your anchor it holds, and it grips the Solid Rock

In times like these, I have a Savior
In times like these, I have an anchor
I’m very sure, I’m very sure
My anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock

That Rock is Jesus, Yes, He’s the one
That Rock is Jesus, The only One
Be very sure, oh you’ve gotta be sure
That your anchor it holds, and it grips the Solid Rock

Grip onto the Solid Rock, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! Hang on like your life depends on it because it does.

As I insert Jesus into today’s verse, I’m moved by the urgency and fervency with which David felt when he wrote it. Re-read today’s verse and picture yourself being the writer. Do you see it? When I insert Christ into today’s reading, I see:

Give me understanding, and I shall keep Jesus; Yea, I shall observe Jesus with my whole heart!

Whoah! When one’s mind and heart are opened to the word of God and it is understood and accepted, the seed takes root in man’s heart and spiritual fruit is produced. Matthew 13:8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

When we understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ and accept it with true understanding, we are His forever. We are kept in the palm of His hand forever.

John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

A dear friend of mine believes that a person can give up his/her salvation. How can that be when this verse says that they shall NEVER perish and NO ONE can pluck them out of His hand. The Bible does not contradict itself. Jesus’ Parable of the Sower in Matthew tells us about the different types of seeds that go out. The only one that is successful is the one that falls on good ground. Therefore, if someone claims to have given up their salvation, they did not receive the word of God that fell on good ground. Read the Parable again and pray that your eyes are open.

Today’s Psalm tells us that with Christ we will receive understanding and have the choice to keep His commandment! It’s a choice. If you’re not in your Bible, you will sin. If you’re in your Bible and heed its words, you will be able to say no to sin. It’s as easy as that! I could keep writing and writing on this topic. However, if you have a question, please feel free to leave me a comment 🙂

Psalm 119:33 KJV...encouragement from www.magnifythelordwithme.com ...

Teach me, O LORD, the way of Jesus; and I shall keep it unto the end. Oh what a blessing today’s verse is!! I love how the Word of God (Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour) has provided His words through the Scriptures! Through them, we learn about His saving power, grace and mercy! Through them, I came to know Him and was gloriously born again!

The latter part of this verse gives me goosebumps! Not only are we to keep His word as believers, but we are to continue in them until He takes us to our heavenly home. Living in the center of God’s will brings peace and comfort.

Rom. 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

We find that God will work all the negatives and positives in our lives for good! Our purpose in this life is to fear the Lord (reverence Him and honour Him with our words and deeds) and keep His word! That is the simplest way to live life – it’s not complicated. We sinful human beings make it complicated.

Ecc. 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this [is] the whole [duty] of man.

Psalm 119:32 KJV | Personal bible study

I will run the way of Jesus, when thou shalt enlarge my heart. David uses the verb “run” here. This teaches me that when I walk in my journey with Christ, I will do so with energy and determination. I will do His will with the same determination and with passion.

But notice the second half of the verse: “when thou shalt enlarge my heart.” The world says to follow your heart but the Bible says that the heart is desperately wicked in Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? So what does David mean here? The Commentary on The Treasury of David says:

He must change the heart, unite the heart, encourage the heart, strengthen the heart, and enlarge the heart, and then the course of the life will be gracious, sincere, happy, and earnest; so that from our lowest up to our highest state in grace we must attribute all to the free favour of our God.

We have to be careful to what we expose our hearts, amen? When we keep ourselves centered in the word of God and obey His word, our hearts turn toward Him! Paul gave us the perfect blueprint for this in Phil. 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

I’m sure you’ve read these verses countless times but have you applied them, my friend? When we dwell on the bad, our hearts become hard and the Holy Spirit is quenched. He cannot work in us if we are working against Him. Once we are born again, our hearts are set free from sin and it’s up to us to fight the good fight and run a good race, amen? We have everything to gain by obeying God’s word but we lose peace when we disobey. It is always better to obey because the Lord loves obedience over sacrifices offered up. 1 Sam 15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

Obedience to God’s word is the key here, friend. You will never go wrong in doing so!

What a great verse … well, in fact they all are, aren’t they? There is so much in the Book of Psalms as well as in this longest chapter of the Bible. Dear friend, I have received so much encouragement from God’s word that I could not get from human interaction! This is what David talks about when he spoke of encouraging himself in the Lord

1 Samuel 30:6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.

In today’s verse, Christ’s peace is found when we stick with His words. I have stuck to Jesus: O LORD, put me not to shame. Jesus will never let us down. He is perfect and His words are perfect. The best explanation I have read on this verse came from the Treasury of David:

This would happen if God’s promises were unfulfilled, and if the heart of God’s servant were suffered to fail. This we have no reason to fear, since the Lord is faithful to his word. But it might also happen though the believer’s acting in an inconsistent manner, as David had himself once done, when he fell into the way of lying, and pretended to be a madman. If we are not true to our profession we may be left to reap the fruit of our folly, and that will be the bitter thing called “shame.”

God is not the one who moves in our relationship with Him. He is steadfast and true (Heb. 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;) We are the ones that move. When we act in a manner that is not consistent with God’s word, we will reap the fruit of our folly indeed. We won’t have that joy and peace which goes beyond all understanding Phil. 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Jesus is the visual and spoken word from our Heavenly Father. He is the only way to Heaven – the only way to Heaven. This is not being dogmatic – it is according to the scriptures. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Without Jesus, one cannot enter into Heaven. We must go by Him. I am stuck to Jesus! Remember the Bandaid commercial? I am stuck on Bandaids and Bandaid’s stuck on me! Well, I am stuck on Jesus and Jesus is stuck on me. I received His blessed Holy Spirit when I was born again. It is His Spirit that teaches me and strengthens me through Christ’s words! Be careful, brother and sister in Christ, because the devil is very much alive today. We must rely on God’s words, not man’s, to be certain that we are hearing from Him. 2 Tim. 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

Hold steady and stick to Jesus and His word! You won’t go wrong 🙂

Psalm 119:30 - KJV - Bible verse of the day - DailyVerses.net

I have chosen the way of truth: Jesus have I laid before me!

Do you see Jesus in this verse? Jesus took all our punishment upon Himself so that we could be free from sin. The penalty of sin has been paid on the cross over 2,000 years ago! What love!

John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

John 15:15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

Jesus made it clear that if we follow Him, we are His friends! We are not servants but friends! Jesus is my Saviour! My eyes are fixed on Him as He leads me! Praise God that He gave His only Son to take my punishment! Thank you, Lord!

Remove from me the way of lying: and grant me Jesus graciously! What a beautiful exhortation.

Removing all types of deception/lies from our lives is a start to coming closer to the Lord Jesus Christ. Deception comes in different forms like sin, error, idolatry, self righteousness, hypocrisy. These are all types of lies.

There is much error in this world. It has gotten to the point where good is called evil and evil is called good! Abortion is one good example. Idolatry is another lie – we put things in our lives before the Lord. Deceiving ourselves when we think we are better than others (self righteousness) is also sin and a form of a lie. No one is good but God.

The closer we get to the Lord Jesus through reading His word, the more we will see those lies as they truly are. We need to confess them and forsake them. The Holy Spirit guides us through the word of God and inspires our spirit to do what is right. It is our willful and sinful nature that goes against His direction. As we grow in the Lord, we should hate sin more and love Him more! The Psalmist didn’t ask the Lord to remove him from the way of lying – he asked the Lord to remove from him the way of lying. Big difference amen?

Have you been there, Christian? Have you been to the point where you feel as though your spirit, heart and soul are melting? Have you ever been so burdened or heart broken that you feel your whole life is falling apart? I sure have! A little over a year ago, my children and I were called to my husband’s bedside to say goodbye! If I dwell on the memory for a little while, I can remember each detail of that night. But praise the Lord, he survived and all glory is given to the Lord!

Seeing Christ in today’s verse is so encouraging! My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according to Jesus!!!! Jesus is the keeper of my soul – he’s the Shepherd of my soul according to 1 Peter 2:25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

He alone can meet the need of our heart! He alone can bring peace in the midst of a storm! Amen and amen!

Psalm 119:27 KJV | Kjv, Favorite bible verses, Psalm 119

Make me to understand the way of Jesus: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works!!! After salvation, God’s word opens our eyes and teaches us about Jesus and what he did for us. His role in the Godhead was to leave His glorious home in Heaven to come to sinful earth in order to be a living sacrifice for our sins! His sacrificial love for us cannot be comprehended! I’ll never understand the depth of His love but I am thankful for it!

John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

As a believer, I am a friend of Jesus Christ, my Saviour! What a blessing to know this. I know that as a friend, He is always there to listen and to help me. I wouldn’t keep that precious relationship silent but I would tell others. All the more with Jesus. I should indeed tell others of what He has done for me! That’s the purpose of the Gospel, amen? We share with others what He has done for us so that someone else will see their need of Him in their life, amen?

Tell others of his life, death, burial and resurrection! What a precious thing to share with someone. I thank the Lord every day that my best childhood friend traveled 1,000 miles in order to tell me about Him. We serve a risen Saviour, dear reader, and He is in the world today. Through His Holy Spirit He resides within each of us. Praise the Lord!
