The catholic church teaches that salvation can be achieved through the church and the sacraments. Furthermore, even though a catholic believes he is “saved,” he must go to purgatory after he dies and be further purged from his sins before he can enter heaven. That alone teaches that Christ’s death on the cross and the blood that He shed was insufficient to do the entire job of salvation! What a disgrace to our Lord Jesus Christ! So what do the Scriptures teach?

~Romans 6:9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

~Romans 6:10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

~Hebrews 7:27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

~Hebrews 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

~Hebrews 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

~Hebrews 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

~Hebrews 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

~Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

The sacraments (one of which is the mass) are not enough. Christ’s death was enough, however. These verses say that He died once – He does not need to die anymore for our sins – no need for any more deaths through the mass to take place. That means that Jesus Christ’s death on the cross was only needed once and that the blood that He shed was enough. His death already made perfect those who are sanctified by His blood – the born-again believer. Look at Hebrews 10:10 and 10:14 again: We are sanctified by His blood which was shed once and through that offering, Christ (not the sacraments or the catholic church) perfected those who are sanctified forever! So if you, dear catholic, believe that your salvation comes from your church and the sacraments, why do you still need to go to purgatory if Jesus’ blood perfected you forever?

~Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

One does not go to purgatory after death. The Bible says that after your death, you will be immediately judged. There is no being purged until you are holy enough to enter heaven. If that were the case, the following verse would not be in the Scriptures:

~2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

If only catholics can be saved according to your catechism and you had been in purgatory and had been completely purged upon entering heaven, then who are the ones who are receiving judgment from Christ over the things he did bad?

T-H-I-N-K! Use the brain that God gave you! The catholic doctrines are like a collander. They cannot hold the precious water of life from the Word of God because they are false doctrine taught by the traditions of men.

~Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

  1. Exactly, Kate!!!

    When it’s all boiled down…

IS the work of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross THE ONLY efficacious remedy for our sin or IS IT NOT?

If a soul answers the latter, he holds to a false doctrine taught through the traditions of man and he is in danger of hell-fire.

Great post, Kate! Thank you for standing for THE TRUTH! I pray those steeped in false religion would junk their pride and humbly turn to Jesus Christ BY FAITH ALONE, and by no works of themselves, for their salvation.

    Lord bless!

  2. I praise God for His Word that guides us through life. That we truly can know the truth and it does make us free in Jesus Christ our Lord.

  3. I do too, Linda!

Pastor Mike, it is all about pride. Prides keeps us from submitting to the One True God. Lucifer’s pride was his downfall and so will it be to the catholic who will not go any further than the vatican’s doors for truth!
