These words coming from the lips of someone who calls himself a Christian.

I opposed the Defense of Marriage Act in 1996. It should be repealed and I will vote for its repeal on the Senate floor. I will also oppose any proposal to amend the U.S. Constitution to ban gays and lesbians from marrying.

  1. It’s interesting to continue learning about this man. The news media seems to be ignoring a lot of what he is all about. Hmmm.

  2. Oh that every Christian would get on his knees and beg the God of Glory for mercy on this wonderful country and that He would send us a God-fearing man, not a whited sepulchre!

  3. you can be christian and believe that gays have rights.

Are you saying that someone who doesn’t live by your god’s rules should be discriminated against?

I was raised a catholic and I am bisexual… I know that my religion does not except me.. but i know god does…

and it’s true.. this countries laws are not about church.. they are about state.. and everyone deserves equal rights… whether you are a christian or not you should stand by that conviction

  4. Laurenadela, thank you for your comments. You said: “I know that my religion does not except me…but i know god does…” I would be interested to know HOW you know this. Where does it say this in the Bible? The Bible is our final authority on what God sees as sin and how God expects mankind to live.

All sin is wicked before God, and yes all sin can be forgiven through the blood of Jesus. However, the Bible clearly shows us that not all sin has the same consequences in this world. God destroyed Sodom because of homsexuality not because they murdered one another or stole from one another. God judged Sodom because of the sin of homosexuality (Jude 7).

Homosexuality is especially corrupt because it to “change the natural use into that which is against nature” (Rom. 1:26).

How can God state in His Word that He is against homosexuality and then tell you that he accepts your lifestyle?

The Word says that God says homosexuality is an abomination (Lev. 18:22), it brought the death penalty (Lev. 20:13, Rom. 1:32), it defiles the land (Lev. 18:25), it is committed by those with a morally reprobate mind (Rom. 1:26-28), brings judgment of eternal fire (Jude 7).

But God also forgives the repentent homosexual (1 Cor. 6:9-11).

I do not believe that the homosexual (or any sexually immoral individual) has rights just as I don’t believe that the murderer or extortioner has rights. When the laws of the Bible are broken, judgment follows. I don’t support any politician who would compromise the Word of God. The Bible has not changed, but this world sure has because of its sin.
