KEEP" Psalms 119:17 Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may ...

The Treasury of David defined “deal bountifully” in such an eye-opening way!

Let my wage be according to thy goodness, and not according to my merit. Reward me according to the largeness of thy liberality, and not according to the scantiness of my service.

David was quite humble and knew his position with God. He knew that his own works were nothing to speak of but that God’s rewards were far greater. David accepted what rewards as well as punishments came from God because God is Good and wanted only the best for David. As a result, David grew closer to the Lord and kept His words.

In keeping with our theme of finding Jesus in Psalm 119, let’s look at it today:

Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep Jesus!

In Jesus there is eternal life, amen? When our hearts accept Him as Saviour, we obtain eternal life through His work on the cross. It is His shed blood on that cross that the penalties of death are paid. God deals with us bountifully for sure when we accept His Son as our Saviour. We do not lose that salvation because it is sealed!

John 6:27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

Eph. 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

What a blessing!!
