Jesus can be found in every area of our lives, IF we choose to look for Him. Whether our friends and family abandon us, Jesus never will. Do you realize just how much power is in that Name? The Name above all names! He is the God of each step you make and is worthy of your praise and worship! Every knee will be made to bow before Him some day.

I thought it would be a blessing to look at the different names that were used in the King James Bible for Jesus. There are quite a few, more than I imagined! The first that I would like to write about is Scripture’s reference to Jesus being the first Adam.

1 Corinthians 15:45-47 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.

According to Strong’s Concordance, the Greek word for “quickening” is:

From the same as G2226 and G4160; to (re-) vitalize (literally or figuratively): – make alive, give life, quicken.
Total KJV occurrences: 12

Jesus surely did give us life – eternal life! John 10:28  And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. Only God can give life – only God can provide eternal life and that is through Jesus Christ, the second Adam. Be aware of the teachings out there that claim one can lose his salvation. When salvation is dependent on man’s power, we can lose it. But salvation is provided by Jesus Christ and His words tell us that we shall never perish. This does not mean that you can get saved and then sin as you want. The true born again believer will not desire to do so. When the born again believer sins, he is remorseful, heart broken and distraught over his sin. He is quick to ask forgiveness and quick to go back to producing Godly fruit. If you are not disturbed by continuous and repeated sin in your life, you need to check your “salvation experience.” A true child of God will not be comfortable in his sin. The Holy Spirit will speak in His still small voice and convict your heart.

The word quicken also means to make alive, to re-vitalize! How appropriate is that? Our nature is made human as in the first Adam, but Jesus re-vitalizes us – makes us alive through salvation! Glory!
