Today’s Ponderings – No Excuses

~Psalm 19:1-3 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. 2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. 3 [There is] no speech nor language, [where] their voice is not heard.

Notice in verse 2 that the heavens and firmament “uttereth speech” and the night “sheweth knowledge.” We all know that these inanimate objects cannot speak but their beauty in appearance speak volumes. It’s like the old saying, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” Verse 3 shows us that nature reaches every place on earth therefore reaching every person. That is why anyone can look out into creation and know in his heart that there is a God.

~Psalm 143:5 I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.

~Psalm 8:3-4 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; 4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

~Psalm 147:4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

~Ecclesiastes 3:11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

God reveals himself through His creation. We see His handiwork through nature – everywhere we look, we are beholding a piece of His artwork!

I am totally blessed when I see a beautiful sunset, the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains, the peaceful Shenandoah River, a star-filled night sky, or even the smell of a forest after a cleansing rain! Thank You, Lord, for Your magnificent creation!
