Today’s Ponderings – I’m Slipping!

~Matthew 14:30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

Many times I am like Peter. I want so badly to do the right thing and follow the Lord only to find myself doubting. I set my eyes on the circumstances and take my eyes off Him. How miserably I fail when I do this. I shouldn’t judge Peter too harshly as I am no different. The Lord, in His mercy, looked on Peter as he was sinking and crying out. Christ’s mercy was shown in immediate action as He stretched out His hand and caught Peter.

~Matt 14:31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth [his] hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

Oh what a mercifully compassionate Saviour we serve! He holds us up when we are ready to fall. He knows that we won’t always keep our eyes fixed on Him and His mercy prevails! How grateful I am!!

~Psalm 94:18 When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up.
