God’s Word Lasts Forever!

Catholics believe that only the original Scriptures are good and that today’s Bible has been corrupted by man. That means that the catholic does not believe that God is who He says He is. Is anything too hard for God?

(Gen 18:14) Is any thing too hard for the LORD? (Jer 32:17) Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee: (Jer 32:27) Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?

If there is nothing too hard for God, why can’t He preserve His Word through the years despite of man’s wickedness? God knew that man’s heart was desperately wicked (Jer 17:9) The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?. This did not catch Him by surprise. Therefore, God kept the Oracles alive and Jesus spoke of these Scriptures in the synagogues. He quoted them time and time again. Why would God change? Why could He not keep the Word preserved in the years after Jesus left? After all, the Holy Spirit was now residing with the born-again believer.

God says that His Word will abide forever. He cannot lie and, therefore, His Word will abide forever!

(Psa 119:89) LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

(Psa 119:160) Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.

(Psa 105:8 ) He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.

(Psa 119:160) Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.

(Isa 40:8 ) The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

(1Pe 1:23) Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

(1 Pe 1:25) But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

If you believe that the Bible has been corrupted by man, then you cannot possibly be saved. You are a gonner for sure.

(Rom 10:17) So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

(Heb 11:6) But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Diligently seek the Lord, my friend! Without Him you are lost and on your way to hell. The catholic has also argued with me that the Bible came from the catholic church. IF this is true, then why did the catholic church allow God’s precious Word to be corrupted then if it was left in their care? Does that make any sense? You are easily fooled my friend!

Catechism Teaches That Only Pope and Leaders Can Interpret the Bible

The 1994 Catholic Catechism says:

“The task of interpreting the Word of God authentically has been entrusted solely to the magisterium of the Church, that is, to the Pope and to the bishops in communion with him.” Pg. 30, #100

Can only the pope and the magisterium of the catholic church interpret the Bible? What does the Word say?

It is considered noble to search the Scriptures: (Act 17:11) These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. How many times have you searched the Bible for things about what you are taught by your church?

(Mk 12:24) And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?

Why would Jesus admonish the Sadducees because they didn’t know the Scriptures if it was impossible for them to? And why did your “first pope” Peter say, (2 Peter 1:20) Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

Why does Paul instruct us to study the Bible if we can’t interpret it? (2 Tim 2:15) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Why does Jesus tell the Jews to search the Bible in (Joh 5:39) Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. Why would He do that, if you couldn’t interpret them?

The catholic church does not want you searching the Scriptures because they don’t want you to know the truth about how to truly be saved. They want to hold you in bondage so that you keep turning to her for your answers.

Who really does the interpreting for us? The Holy Spirit – not a church or a preacher. Jesus said He would leave us the Comforter (the Holy Spirit) who would teach us all things because the Holy Spirit teaches TRUTH! (John 14:26) But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. and (John 16:13) Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

The Apostle Paul says that it was the Holy Spirit who taught him. (1 Cor. 2:13) Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. and (1 Cor. 2:12) Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

Why would we encouraged to memorize the Scriptures if we couldn’t understand them? (Ps 119:11) Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. and (Prov 7:2-3) Keep my commandments, and live… write them upon the table of thine heart.

We do not need anyone to teach us because we have the Perfect Teacher, the Holy Spirit. 1 John 2:26-27 says These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, andye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie , and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. (emphasis mine).

Why would a church discourage you from being in the Word? Why would you be taught in a catechism that only the pope and the church leaders can interpret when the Bible (even your own catholic bible) states otherwise? You are easily fooled because you have allowed the largest organization in the world to fool you. God’s Word does not deceive but leads a soul to the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In its pages are truth because God wrote these words and God cannot lie.

Psa 119:97-99 O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day. Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. (emphasis mine)

This does not sound like a God that wants you to have someone else chew His Word and digest it. Our God wants YOU to do it. Don’t be lazy, man! Dig in the Word of God! Stop criticizing me and saying that I am interpreting the Word of God “in my own way” and dig into it for yourself and let God speak to you? Are you afraid that you might find out that your church has been wrong all these years? I challenge you to use that brain that God gave you and study the Word for yourself!

Catholics Venerate Statues

The 1994 Catholic Catechism states:

“Sacred images in our churches and homes are intended to awaken and nourish our faith in the mystery of Christ. Through the icon of Christ and his works of salvation, it is he whom we adore. Through sacred salvation, it is he whom we adore. Through sacred images of the holy Mother of God, of the angels and of the saints, we venerate the persons represented.” Pg. 307, #1192

Dear catholic, it does not matter what “reason” you have for having a statue in your home. It does not matter that you venerate the person and not the statue itself. What does matter is that God says we should not have the statue – PERIOD.

If I want to honor your mother, all you have to do is to think of her. She is ever present in your thoughts and in your heart, right? Do you need a picture of her to remind you of her?

The 1994 Catholic Catechism does not even pretend that this doctrine came from God:

Following the divinely inspired teaching of our holy Fathers and the tradition of the Catholic Church (for we know that this tradition comes from the Holy Spirit who dwells in her) we rightly define with full certainty and correctness that, like the figure of the precious and life-giving cross, venerable and holy images of our Lord and God and Savior, Jesus Christ, our inviolate Lady, the holy Mother of God, and the venerated angels, all the saints and the just, whether painted or made of mosaic or another suitable material, are to be exhibited in the holy churches of God, on sacred vessels and vestments, walls and panels, in houses and on streets.” Pg. 300, #1161

This doctrine came from the “holy Fathers” and “tradition of the Catholic Church.” So, my catholic friend, are you to believe that these holy Fathers were “divinely inspired” to violate God’s Word? Would God contradict Himself?

The Catholic church contends that idols will “awaken and nourish” your faith in “the mystery of Christ.” I don’t need a picture of my mother or a bust of her to remind me of her. I think of her every single day. Why do you, my catholic friend, need a statue to remind you of Christ? Should He not be foremost in your heart and mind anyway? If you need a picture or a statue to bring you to a state of worship in your heart, then your heart is in the wrong place. When one is born-again and saved from eternal damnation, Christ is foremost in that person’s heart and all his thoughts are consumed with His love and what He has done. We do not need to be reminded when we look at a statue or picture. We have Him imprinted on our very heart!

God’s Word forbids their use. Who will you obey?

(Lev 26:1) Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.

Mark 7:8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men.

What has God called us to do?

(1 Peter 3:15) But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

What was your life like at the time of your salvation? Were you a devout catholic, like I was? Were you a mormon? Were you a drug addict? Whatever your lot was prior to salvation, the Lord God saved you from it and changed you. (2 Cor 5:17) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Once I accepted Jesus Christ as my Saviour, my life began to change. I knew I could no longer go on with my old lifestyle and I began to change from the moment He saved me. That was back in 1980 and I have not looked back nor have I wanted to go back to my old life.

But what are we to do with our new life? The Word says we are to sanctify God in our hearts. Noah Webster defines this as

5. To cleanse from corruption; to purify from sin; to make holy be detaching the affections from the world and its defilements, and exalting them to a supreme love to God.

Sanctifying ourselves is an on-going task in our spiritual lives. Each day brings its challenges and the Lord provides grace to tackle each challenge in a manner that will glorify Him. We are to separate ourselves from worldliness and focusing ourselves on glorifying the Lord in our bodies and in our actions.

Peter goes on to say that we must be ready (available) to tell others why we have the hope of salvation with meekness and fear. The word fear here is not the reverential fear that is found in (Luk 23:40) But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? That Greek word in Luke for fear is:

G5399

φοβέωphobeōfob-eh’-oFrom G5401; to frighten, that is, (passively) to be alarmed; by analogy to be in awe of, that is, revere: – be (+ sore) afraid, fear (exceedingly), reverence. The Greek word for fear in 1 Peter 3:15 is:
G5401
φόβος phobosfob’-osFrom a primary φέβομαι phebomai (to be put in fear); alarm or fright: – be afraid, + exceedingly, fear, terror.

Big difference, huh? Notice that phobos means “alarm or fright – exceedingly fear, terror”!

Peter is also telling us that when we witness to others, we are to do so with meekness. Noah’s definition of meek in this verse is:

1. Mild of temper; soft; gentle; not easily provoked or irritated; yielding; given to forbearance under injuries.

How can one witness to a lost soul with meekness and the phobos type of fear? I believe Peter is telling us that we are to be patient with the unbeliever despite his “sarcastic come backs” – we are to have patience when the lost soul keeps injuring us with harsh words or even vengeance against us. With that type of meekness, we are to boldly proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If we are witnessing to a catholic, we are to be bold – not leaving out where he will spend eternity in our salvation plan. We know that phobos cannot be referencing the believer because we are told that we no longer have to fear hell. (Rom 8:15) For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The word fear here is the same phobos as in 1 Peter 3:15! Isn’t that wonderful?

The Christian is freed from this phobos type fear because we are a child of God! However, the unbeliever must be shown the phobos fear when we witness to him so that he will be converted! The root of phobos is phebomai which means “to put in fear.” We must be bold and not withhold anything in our witnessing. I would rather put the fear of hell and the wrath of God into a lost soul’s heart than to sugar coat the Gospel and have him comfortable in his sin. Where do you sit in this area? When you witness, do you only speak of the “love gospel” or do you give the lost soul the whole Gospel?

Why am I talking about this today? The Lord has impressed upon me that He brought me out of catholicism for a purpose! It is my duty to witness to other catholics and show them the truth. That is what I have experience in – that is what He saved me from! What better witness than one who has been through it? I must work until Christ comes again or until I die alerting other catholics of the dangers of the catholic church and the false religion that it is. I am frantically building my blog with information on catholicism in hopes that the lost catholic will one day find it and be saved. This is my prayer!

Christian, what has God saved you from? Share it with meekness and explain to the lost the fear that he needs to have to draw him to salvation. In other words, be patient with the unbeliever and give him the Gospel as if his life depended on it! Because it does! His eternal life depends on you giving him the words of life! Do what you must to win this lost soul to Christ. Warn him – show him – be ready with spiritual ammunition from the Word.

Catholics Believe that Baptism Saves

The 1994 Catholic catechism states that baptism is necessary for salvation:

“The Lord himself affirms that Baptism is necessary for salvation.” Pg. 320, #1257

Also,

“The Church does not know of any other means other than Baptism that assures entry into eternal beatitude…” Pg. 320, #1257

“The faithful are born anew by Baptism…” Pg. 311, #1212

“Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, and are incorporated into the Church…” Pg. 312, #1213

“Baptism not only purifies from all sins, but also makes the neophyte ‘a new creature,’ an adopted son of God, who has become a ‘partaker of the divine nature,’ member of Christ and co-heir with him, and a temple of the Holy Spirit.” Pg. 322, #1265

“By Baptism all sins are forgiven, original sin and all personal sins, as well as all punishment for sin.” Pg. 321, #1263 (See pg. 257, #985)

What does the Bible say about this? (Joh 1:12) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (emphasis mine)

Baptism cannot forgive sins because the Word states differently. It is Christ’s precious blood at salvation that forgives our sins. (Eph 1:7) In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; (emphasis mine)

If baptism were necessary, then the Apostle Paul would not have said: (1 Cor 1:17) For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. (emphasis mine).

When one gets saved, there must be a turning away of the old sinful life. A thief can no longer continue to steal – a liar can no longer continue to lie – an adulterer can not longer continue to be an adulterer. Repentance is necessary or the salvation experience has made the cross of Christ of none effect! John the Baptist’s first words were to repent and so were Jesus’ first words in His ministry.

(Mat 3:2) And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.(Mat 4:17) From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. After repentance and salvation came baptism.

(Mat 3:6) And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.

(Act 2:41) Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

(Act 8:12) But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

(Act 8:13) Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.

(Act 8:35) Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

(Act 8:36) And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

(Act 8:37) And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

(Act 16:30) And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

(Act 16:31) And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

(Act 16:32) And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

(Act 16:33) And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

(Act 18:8 ) And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.

Salvation comes first by hearing the Word of God and believing what is preached. Then baptism follows.

The Catechism also says:

“All the sacraments are sacred links uniting the faithful with one another and binding them to Jesus Christ, and above all Baptism, the gate by which we enter into the Church.” Pg. 248, #950

Again, the Word has something to say about this. (Luk 23:43) And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. The thief was never baptized yet Jesus Himself promised him that he would be with Him in paradise. Baptism is not necessary for salvation but is an act of obedience after salvation. The thief did not have time nor the ability to be baptized but that did not stop him from going to Heaven. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone.

There are so many things in the catechism that a catholic is not aware of. I was not aware that the catechism teaches that when a person is baptized, it is really Jesus Himself who is doing the baptizing:

“By his (Christ’s) power he is present in the sacraments so that when anybody baptizes, it is really Christ himself who baptizes.” Pg. 283, #1088

Where is this said in the Bible? It isn’t. It is yet another tradition of the catholic church.

“Baptism indeed is the seal of eternal life.” Pg. 324, #1274

The Word is quite clear as to what seals the believer. Nowhere does the Word state that baptism is the seal of eternal life. What the Word does say is: (Eph 1:13) In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, and(Eph 4:30) And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. (emphasis mine).Again, catholic tradition supersedes the Word of God in the catholic church. Who will you believe? What will you tell Jesus when you stand before Him (and you will ) and He asks you why you believed lies instead of His Word?
