Invitation to Visit the Fundamental Baptist Forum

If you have not already visited the Fundamental Baptist Forum, please come one over and give it a try! Brother John Boone began this ministry and had dreams of seeing it become a haven of rest and a place where people could find salvation through Jesus Christ. Brother Boone went home to be with the Lord on April 14th, but the Forum lives on with his dreams in each of the administrators’ hearts. We have something for everyone – men, women, husbands, wives, teenagers, and tons of resources for those in the ministry.

This forum is visible to the general public for viewing only. Members enjoy the privilege of contributing to the forum and sharing in the sweet fellowship. Unlike other forums where debate is the center of most topics, the administrative team works hard to provide a haven of rest where like-minded believers can come together and fellowship without arguing.

Please Pray for Ryan, Amy and baby boy

I am not led to post these types of things very often. However, as I was reading prayer requests on the Fundamental Baptist Forum, I came across this unique prayer request. I ask that you include this dear Pastor and his family in your prayers. What a Mighty God we serve and He can do this. Here is Pastor Ryan’s letter sent out after Resurrection Sunday. I changed only one thing in his letter and that was to quote the King James Bible in his Bible reference.

“The baby boy that my wife Amy is carrying in her belly right now has not been given any chance to live once he is born. Every doctor and website that I have been to has stated this unfortunate outcome. There is not, to my knowledge, one person that has survived for any amount of time with this condition. I know some people would say well then let’s pray for the family as they begin now until September 14 to deal with the loss of their son.

Let me pause and say – hold off on those prayers for now. As this past weekend has brought to my attention in a very real and relevant way – our God conquers death. Hello? He thrives on the impossible! Let’s not get caught up in believing only what octors say when the God who conquers death hasn’t had any say. We will know what God wants to do when this child is born. So please pray that God would form this little boy’s brain and close the skull and scalp. This isn’t supposed to happen – I get that. But dead guys aren’t supposed to come back to life either!

Some people probably think that Amy and I are setting ourselves up for heartbreak. No – we are asking God to give us our heart’s desire. If He doesn’t – He is still God and He is still good. How do you want to be remembered? Praying for God to comfort us (He has already promised to do that) or having a part in praying for the impossible?

Please help us pray for the impossible! We will leave the rest up to the God who hates death so much that He overcame it. Psalm 40:3 – “And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.” Our goal is that many people would see that we believe God is good even when life is not, begin to fear (respect), and trust in the Lord.

Thank you for coming in this journey with us! We need you!”

If you place Pastor Ryan, Amy and their baby boy on your prayer list, please encourage them with an e-mail and let them know you are praying. It would be awesome if this dear family received emails from all over the world letting them know they are praying to the God of miracles on their behalf. Their e-mail is:

Thank you!

Mini-Manna for Little Lambs – Day 16 – Lying

Coloring/Teaching

Let’s color the picture of Bobby and his teddy bear! Bobby is praying with his teddy bear. Why do you think Bobby is praying? We will find out in today’s lesson.

You Must Not Tell A Lie
(sung to The Farmer in the Dell)

You must not tell a lie
You must not tell a lie
God says that lying is a sin
You must not tell a lie

I must not tell a lie
I must not tell a lie
It makes my parents really sad
I must not tell a lie

Bible Time

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. (Exo 20:16)

Story

Bobby and Andy were playing with their toy cars. Andy did not want to share with Bobby and that made Bobby angry. Bobby threw one of his toy cars at Andy and it hit the wall and made a hole in the wall. (make a sad face) Bobby knew that Mommy would be very upset with him. Bobby told Andy not to say what happened or Bobby would be punished. When Andy went home, Mommy saw the hole in the wall and asked Bobby what happened. Bobby told Mommy a lie. (make a sad face and shake your head No) He said that Andy threw the car and it hit the wall. Bobby felt awful for lying to Mommy but he was afraid to tell her the truth. He knew that she would be very sad if she knew he had lied to her. (make a sad face again) So Bobby decided not to tell his Mommy he had lied.

The next day, Mommy hung up the telephone and came to Bobby. Mommy said, “Bobby, Andy’s Mom told me that Andy said you did not want him to say how the hole got in the wall. Bobby, would you like to tell me the truth now”? Bobby told his Mommy that he had lied and that he threw the car and it hit the wall. Bobby felt better now because he had told the truth. Mommy said, “Bobby, God’s Word says not to tell a lie because it is sin. You need to ask God to forgive you.” Bobby began to cry and hugged his Mommy. He told her he was sorry. Bobby knelt down with his teddy bear and began to pray to God and asked God to forgive him. Bobby was so happy now that he had been forgiven! (clap your hands and smile) Bobby said to his Mommy, “I’ll never tell a lie again, Mommy”! (smile again and clap your hands)

Dear God…
Help me to always tell the truth. Amen!

The Thinking Blog Award Goes to…

Much to my surprise, I made my daily visit to Sis. Julie’s blog only to see that I had been selected as one of the winners of her Thinking Blog Award.

I believe my strongest drive as a Christian is to challenge others to righteous living. I guess that causes them to think :-) We should be searching, seeking, learning and conforming to the image of Christ. That should be a drive within all of us, don’t you think?

To continue passing on this Award process, I reviewed those blogs that I frequent daily. Those five that I’ve chosen are not chosen to reciprocate but because I am always challenged at their blogs to think about my spiritual condition. Thank you, my brethren, for continuing the challenge!!

Bro. Jerry – has been instrumental in causing me to dig deeper when I study and research. He has always encouraged me to search for golden nuggets :-) I know that when I go read his blog, I need to put my thinking cap on ;-)

Sis. Julie – has a heart for the Lord. Each post blesses me in some way and causes me to meditate and search out my heart. She truly is a Pastor’s wife and I’m thankful for the heart she has for the ladies God has entrusted in her care.

Bro. Tim – packs a punch in each of his blogs. I always walk away with something that encourages me to live right or glean from. I’m never disappointed :-)

Bro. Jim – Standing in the Gap always has some kind of exhortation for the reader. We’re always encouraged to live right and do right. Again, I walk away challenged to think.

Bro. Joshua & Bro. Caleb – are the youngest men I read after but they never cease to amaze me with their posts. Whether it is something they have written or have gleaned from, I am challenged to think. These young men are going to pack a whollop when they are grown!

Thank you all for the blessings you give this lady every day!!

Your Salvation Day!

In awesome wonder and praise I sit
Going over that glorious day
The day you came to the Saviour
And your sins were all washed away

Your prayer was so sincere and sweet,
It reached heaven with opened ears
Angels rejoicing with hymns and songs
And Your Father so moved to tears!

A hurting son came to Him last night
Who had been wandering for so long
Your Father so patiently waited
For His son to repent and come home

In the still of the night you were broken
And your desperate cry He did hear
Salvation was given to you freely
Now He’ll hold you ever so near

Your Father awaits you each morning
In a place that is special to you
With the Bible ready and waiting
So His Spirit your heart can renew

Be faithful and strong, my precious son
God’s Word daily feeding your soul
Be vigilant, guarding your spirit
In your walk toward your Heavenly Home

I love you, Adam!
Mom

Mini-Manna for Little Lambs – Day 15 – Being Content

Coloring/Teaching

Let’s color a picture of this bird and its house. The bird is sitting on the perch outside the door. (point to the opening) The bird never has to think about what clothes to wear or what food to eat or where to sleep. God takes care of the birds, doesn’t He? (smile and nod your head Yes) We will learn about this bird in today’s lesson.

Song
(sung to The Muffin Man)
I have learned to be content
To be content
To be content
I have learned to be content
And thankful I must be
There are some who have no food
Who have no food
Who have no food
There are some who have no food
So I must not complain

There are some who have no clothes
Who have no clothes
Who have no clothes
There are some who have no clothes
God takes care of me
Bible Time

Let’s open our Bibles and read two Bible verses. Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? (Mat 6:26) Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have…(Heb 13:5a)

Story

In Matthew 6:26, God tells us that the birds do not plant a garden but they still have food because God feeds them. Do you think the birds complain about the food that God gives them? (shake your head no and frown) Does the bird complain because he does not have any clothes? (shake your head no and frown) No, the bird does not complain about what he eats or what clothes to wear because he knows that the things God gives him are good for him.

What about your dog (or other pet you have – or a pet at a friend’s house)? Does your dog complain because you give him the same food every day? (shake head no and frown) No, your dog is happy because you are giving him food to eat. He doesn’t complain at all. In fact, he wags his tail, doesn’t he? (smile and nod your head Yes)

We should be like the animals that God has created. We should not complain because we don’t like them. We should be content with what we have. Do you know what that means? Being content means to be happy with what you have. If Mary gets a doll for her birthday or Jimmy gets a toy car, do you look at your toys and think that your toys are not good? If you do, that is because you are not happy with what you have. You are not content, the Bible says. If Mary’s lollipop is bigger than your lollipop, are you sad because you did not get one just like hers? If you are, it is because you are not content with what you have. God says in Heb 13:5 that we are to be happy with the things that we have – we must be content. Being content makes God happy and it makes Mommy and Daddy happy, too! (clap your hands and smile)

Dear God…
Help me to be content with the things I have.
Amen!
